Another question: what if overall match is tied (say 2-2-1)after everyone completes round; how is winning team determined?

This was a fantastic day for Stanford and for golf fans. I am thrilled for the team. You prepare and practice and play all year to be in this position. The pressure of the final is the reward for being successful. I hope that the team can go out tomorrow and enjoy the experience.
That said, Stanford is the underdog. Oregon has had a fantastic spring season. They won 2 tournaments, finished 2nd in two others, won Pac 12s, won their regional. They have played very well in winning their 2 matches today. I think Stanford will need some luck to win.
My $0.02 on the matchups. Winflop may have his own observations.
Stanford's foundation in match play has been the duo of Krauter and Seay. Both won 2 matches today. Both played exactly the kind of game that Coach Walker expects of them - solid play, lots of pars, opportunistic birdies, don't give opponents too many chances. Both were -1 in beating their Auburn opponents. Seay was -3 and Krauter was +1 in defeating their Georgia opponents. Seay and Krauter are also Stanford's most experienced players as the only junior and the only senior on the team. Coach Walker is playing them in matches 1 and 2 for all of these reasons. Stanford really needs 2 victories here.
Match 3 seems like a mismatch. Englemann is now 0-3 in match play over the past 2 years. In two of those matches, she fell behind early and never got anything going. In the third, she led after 9 holes but could not keep up with her opponent. She just has not been able to play as consistently as her teammates. In the Georgia match, she was -1 (a good round, though her opponent was better). In the Auburn match, she was +9. Unless she is at her best tomorrow, this looks like an Oregon win.
Then you have the anchors in Heck and Zhang. I trust that we will see the national champion and US Amateur champ level of performance from Zhang. But I have no idea what Heck can do. She'll need to dig deep. Bottom line for me is that Stanford needs to win 3 of 4 among Seay, Krauter, Heck and Zhang. That seems like a tall order. But it could happen with a little luck.
Either way, the Pac 12 will win the women's golf championship for the 5th time in 7 years since the format changed.

I'd think playing conditions on Wednesday (late morning/noon start) would be most like Round 1 and Round 4 for both teams, so I added that into the table.
Zhang and Engelmann seem to have stronger numbers than their opponent.
(Note that Zhang was only 2 strokes better than Nielsen on the late morning starts, so I wouldn't just assume her to dominate.)
Krauter looks pretty even.
When you look at Rounds 1 & 4, Seay could be considered almost even.
Heck will have to play a lot better to get her point. (I hope she sleeps in, as she did very well on the early morning rounds.)

Not possible. Matches do not end on 18 if they are tied. Each individual match goes to sudden death extra holes.

Each coach enter their lineup in order and doesn't see the other team's lineup. There's some game theory to this. Coach Ray used that game theory to a large extent in 2019 when we won the natty.
This is going to be a tight match, but unlike Norman I think we are the favorites:
- Zhang is heavily favored to win
- Krauter & Seay are favored to win but they need to sustain their level of play throughout the tournament
- Heck & Englemann are the wild cards. If either of them plays well, we could win 4-1
I love that Coach Walker is putting Seay & Krauter out first. They will set the tone and Englemann & Heck can feed off that.
I like our chances to win any match that is even or better after the front nine. We have played much better on the back than the front.

From the 2021 tournament rules, page 13:
"The Division I Women’s Golf Committee will determine match-play lineups using the same method employed at the Presidents Cup matches. The higher-seeded team (as determined through the 72-hole stroke-play portion), “Team 1”, will have the first choice of putting a player on the board for Match #1. The opposing team, “Team 2”, will then name its player for Match #1. Team 2 will then name its player for Match #2, and Team 1 will name its player for Match #2. The process will continue in an “S” curve until the players for all five matches are named. However, Team 1 may defer in the selection process and permit Team 2 to begin the overall selection process."

As a side note, it looks like the author lifted the entire description of the new method without quotation marks:
