These two are utterly amazing. I can't believe they are both sub-2 before even arriving at Stanford. I hope they can stay healthy in their time on the farm. I do think that they might push each other to new heights, but I am more than a little concerned that they may run themselves into the ground once their friendly competition becomes a 24/7 thing. Their coach(es) will have their work cut out for them.

Steve Solomon on to the 400m Commonwealth Games semis with a 45.98. Good comeback from lingering high hammy injury which hampered him at the Worlds.

I overpronate. Doesn't seem to have any positive or negative effects on my time, just determines which shoes I buy.
Imagine how much faster you would be if you didn’t have flat feet.

Great race! You hardly ever see someone go out hard, lead for the first lap, then give up the lead by a meaningful amount, then com back strong for the win. What a duo we have coming in!

Whittaker ran 1:59.04 earlier this season to break Mary Cain’s American record for high school aged girls. Now Willis also under the old record at 1:59.13. The two fastest in history coming to Stanford. In the same class. We have had some other top 800 meter females come to Stanford in the past who never ran as fast again. Let’s hope these two stay free of serious injury and remain motivated.
