farewell to a football great; my kids' pediatrician; a loyal stanford fan through and through; a true friend and confidant.

richard h. horn, class of 1952 (& '59-medicine), passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours on saturday, october 22nd.

dick will be sorely missed.

So sorry to hear. My friend and Dr Horn's teammate Malcolm McLeod passed away 2 years ago.
Malcolm and Dick were big WVB fans in addition to FB.

Horn was listed as a QB but his senior year played DB (the last year freshmen were eligible until 1972) in the two platoon system in place. Gary Kerkorian was the QB on the Rose Bowl team in '51.

I only met Dick about five years ago, but I was impressed by how friendly and cheerful he was.
It's a great loss.
