Since the time when we were the "convivial conclave for Cardinal conversations," the CardBoard has always prided itself on being a fun, amicable place for discussing all Stanford sports. We've even prided us on the tagline "more signal, less noise," which was given by a then-new and now longtime CardBoard member.
Notice that word: member. The CardBoard is a community. Those who sign on are not "users."
Therefore, when members contact me complaining about the tenor of the board — which they have for several months — I take it seriously.
Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with the CardBoard rules.
The leash is getting shorter. While enforcement of most CardBoard rules involves a three-step escalation (warning, weeklong ban, permanent ban), the ad hominem rules will no longer follow the three steps. Anyone taunting another member will receive a warning and 3-day ban on first offense and a permanent ban on the subsequent one.
No member is more important than the community.
