Our program misses Lindy. She was responsible and brobdingnagian part of our excellent recruiting class of the funky 4, which included #1 Haley Jones as well as Cam Brink. Glad to see she’s doing so well. She’ll have opportunities to be the head coach at bigger programs down the road. Maybe Stanford again who knows!

Brink and Jones were in different classes. The four recruits from 2019, currently seniors, were Haley Jones, Ashton Prechtel, Fran Belibi, and Hannah Jump. Cameron Brink was recruited in 2020.

Utah out in front of Oregon State 38-27 at the half. It could be worse for OSU, which was behind 22-9 after one quarter. I'm not used to seeing a Rueck team with such an ineffective defense.

If we and Utah win-out the rest of our games, then when we play each other on the last weekend in Utah, will that be for the Pac-12 regular season championship? Clearly if we win it will be, but what if they win and we wind up tied in the standings each with a win over the other? Their other loss was to Colorado, ours to USC.
Needless to say, I'd love to have that discussion at the time, since it would mean we had won 5 more games leading up to that one.
I have a strong suspicion that we are going to play Utah 2 more times and not just one more time.

Worth remembering -- Utah was Tara's choice for Pac-12 champ in the preseason poll (since she couldn't pick Stanford under the rules). I.e., even then, Tara saw Utah as the 2nd best team in the conference.

Tomorrow morning at 9am South Carolina plays UCONN. Game is on Fox.
Put a glide in your stride and a dip in your hip.
Why does South Carolina look one-dimensional (at most) against UConn right now? They must have expected double or triple coverage of Boston. Also, see no three pointers and lack of defensive intensity - though they tried to dial it up a bit. I have faith in Dawn's ability to respond -- and wonder if this is the day that UConn's lack of depth gets them (foul trouble).

When Geno's refs only call 1/8th of the fouls on UConn that they deserve, SC needs to play that much better.

now Edwards 3 and have to give Lopez Senechal her third for elbow to face? So when unsure, return to Crackpot's comment about the refs! Should add that I'm wearing a Notre Dame sweatshirt atop my Stanford WBB tee shirt.

Cooke and Boston a combined 0-13. UConn defense always seems to do a great job of preventing an opponent's best players from doing what they want to do. South Carolina living off 2nd chance points.

South Carolina has greater depth than its opponents. We were ahead of the for three quarters, let them tie it in the 4th, and allowed them to win it in overtime, and foul trouble was an issue for us. Given the UConn already has foul trouble at the half, my guess is that South Carolina will grind them down and pull away in the fourth.
Cardosa looks like a better offensive presence than Boston.
Three point shooting has been abysmal.

Well, South Carolina did pull away in the fourth. Not sure if I am happy or sad about that. It is probably better for Stanford that South Carolina win, given that it would have to go on a long losing streak to lose its #1 seed, and this at least gives UConn another loss and makes Stanford look better as the only team to compete with South Carolina this year. And Geno throwing a water bottle on the court was something of a low for him--although he has had quite a few lows.
Now next week's game of LSU at South Carolina (Sunday 11am) looms large. I expect South Carolina to dismantle the overrated tigers. I am hoping for a 30 point blowout, so severe that LSU with 1 loss looks worse than other teams with more losses. We shall see.

Geno with a stupid technical foul when the game was still close. It cost his team a possession and 2 points. He had to be restrained from assaulting a female ref. He threw his water bottle down on the court like a 3 year old that didn't get his candy.
Not the type of behavior you'd expect of an alleged GOAT.

And Geno had to be restrained again.
I’m not sure when I have seen so many open shots and so many open shots missed
But despite the antics 10 seconds left and it’s a three point game
I think we can beat both teams.
