I have said for years please Haase set screens for threes.  I’m so wrong. Today open threes bad misses including air balls.  And just like that Ingram makes a three.  Stanford down 19-13

We’re 2-12 in threes at the half. 
34.5% FG vs 60% for utes. 
If we can hang around and win, it would be quite the accomplishment. 

Only met Haase briefly but seems genuinely wonderful. Reminded me of Ted Lasso and then The Athletic revealed that he is indeed a of immense proportions fan.

The next time I see a screen set for S Jones for a catch and shoot will be the first. It's coaching malfeasance.

Whoa! Rewind to 18:10...Keefe set a high screen for S Jones on the perimeter and Ingram fed Jones the ball as he curled around. Inexplicably, Jones passed up the wide-open look and drove towards the basket then pulled up for a much tougher shot (which of course he missed). Maybe he was too stunned to realize what had happened? Maybe he didn't know what it was given he had never seen it before? :) I was so surprised that I rewound then froze the screen and took a photo!

I actually can't fault Haase here.  It looked like a busted possession with everyone out of position.  Haase called the TO before the pass to Jones.

Losing Angel near the end was killer.  Michael Jones is not a great defender.  We couldn't get stops after that.

We need a new AD because the current one can't manage the department's finances, lacked the institutional controls to scrutinize a half-million dollar donation to the sailing program from someone who had never donated before and whose daughter was applying for admission, completely botched the softball coaching scandal a few years ago, kept an obviously poor basketball coach for too long (twice!), didn't demand changes to the football staff after the 2021 season, and lost the trust of much of the athletics donor base over his handling of the cutting of varsity sports. Among other issues. A competent President/Provost would have shown him the door already.

We need a new President (and Provost) because the current one abjectly failed to follow through on commitments to boost resources for mental health (the REAL pandemic that has been plaguing colleges and high schools). An argument could be made that the statements made in the wake of Katie Meyer's suicide were bald-faced lies but I'm not prepared to go there. And then there's the whole academic integrity thing - he should have stepped aside pending the investigation and the BOT should have demanded he do it.

a) bunch players hurt? ... no not really
b) bunch of away games? ... no not really, half at home and of the away, more neutral sites than true away, and 3 of 4 Pac-12 been at home.
c) bunch of tough opponents? .. yeah some, lost to every one of them
d) at least got some Quality wins? .. well, which is best quality win, Fl State? they're 4-11 overall

Our 0-4 conf start matches Haase's worst back at start of his Stanford HC career, so he's come "full circle".
A loss away at Cal will give him a new Stanford "record".

I’d assume that MTL is not the hiring manager (or even Drell, for that matter).  There’s a nationwide shortage of mental health professionals, so the fact that we have had trouble filling the position is not surprising, and probably not really MTL’s fault.

I agree on the lack of hiring not being the Prez's fault.  But there are plenty of other solutions besides hiring new therapists--contract with local providers, give students access to telehealth providers, etc.  A university as rich as Stanford should not have any problem finding solutions to this problem.

A university administration that was committed to improving access to mental health treatment would come up with other ways.  The fact that we haven't is ultimately MTL's fault.
