Yeah, for sure. They did set a nice screen on the ATO in the final minute (I think it was) for that wide-open 3 for Spencer Jones that he bricked. He may never have been that open in his life. Oh well, in contrast to the Arizona game where everything went in, they had a bunch of missed layups and some terrible shots on open looks. In general, I put a lot of it on Haase, esp down the stretch, but some was just bad luck and maybe just one of those nights. Lots of long rebounds went straight into UCLA hands (luck) and refs were calling things tight, which didn't seem to favor us. When you add that to the Haaseketball factor, they lose a winnable game.

Yeah, for sure. They did set a nice screen on the ATO in the final minute (I think it was) for that wide-open 3 for Spencer Jones that he bricked. He may never have been that open in his life. Ingram as a sophomore averages 27 min, 9.8 p/g, 5.7 r/g, and 3.6 assists per game for a team that is under .500. He is a 39.7% shooter and a 31.8% three point shooter.
In 2020/21 Jaquez, as a sophomore, averaged 35 min, 12.3 p/g, 6.1 rebounds per game, and 1.7 assists per game for a team that was a whisker away from winning a national title. He was a 48.6% shooter and a 39.4% three point shooter.
Yeah, Jaquez is better now, but he was also better at the same stage in development. Ingram had a better freshman year statistically than Jaquez, but while Jaquez got better each year from his freshman to senior year, Ingram has been flat (and in fact his scoring is down).

Since it's not particularly relevant to the theme of the article, it's hilarious to me that it refers to Stanford's "faltering offense." Apparently word of the 7-year futility of Haaseketball on offense has spread so widely that even general news staff at the NYT can't help mentioning it (author isn't a sports reporter)!

Have you watched him do anything else? You know, like defend or pass at the college level?
Jarvis Moss is also great at three-point shooting - 41.7% this season. Why isn't that enough for Haase to play him at all, considering we need stronger guard play? (Hint: same thing.)

It was painful to watch the end of the UCLA game. It was winnable imho, but nobody (Spencer or Ingram) stepped up to take the ball and lead. It now seems pretty straightforward to me. Either the team wins out and makes the Pac12 championship game, or Haase is No Mas. 8 years of mediocre Dawkins hoops followed by 7 years of mediocre Haaseketball has been brutal to watch. It's way past time for a change.

Agree with the general sentiment, but I blame Haase (not Spencer or Ingram) for the lack of execution down the stretch. With the very occasional (and breath-taking...like where has that been for 2 seasons?) exception of Ingram, no one on this roster is going to generate his own look and/or take a defender off the dribble and get bucket on his own. They needed to be running certain sets that Haase basically seems to not know about. :-)
Also, I don't care if they win out and get to the Pac-12 champ game (or NCAA Tournament) as unlikely as that is, Haase should be gone yesterday.
