Is it a foregone conclusion that the assistants coaches will be replaced under TT? Is he likely to keep any of the existing staff, or is it just assumed that a new coach will build a whole new staff?

The general assumption is usually that he will clean house, though individual exceptions may be made for reasons of talent, continuity with recruits/recruiting relationships. I certainly would like to hold onto Akina if possible. I’d be shocked if we kept anyone on the offensive side of the ball though.

When Harbaugh came in, I believe he interviewed everyone on Harris's staff. As told to me by a coach who was NOT retained, for him it was pretty much "Here's your hat; thanks for coming in."

I think even Akina needs to go. It's not like our DBs have been that great the last few years. Even though a couple have shown very well and been drafted, overall the unit hasn't been where it needs to be for a few years. The patina has worn off on Akina for me.
My hope is that as an offensive-oriented coach, Taylor quickly finds his DC and let's them make decisions on their staff in coordination with him.

I can envision a scenario (nightmare?) where Anderson is kept on given his experience and role with recruiting.

Have to agree. It's been such a long, slow, drawn-out debacle, I just don't see why anyone deserves to be retained...frankly, even if they were terrific. And I don't see anyone that's terrific.
Eight years ago, I joined a large firm with a small marketing department, just four employees. My boss was the deputy CEO, and she told me at the outset, "I don't think any of them are any good, and if I were you, I'd get rid of all of them." The catch was, I could only hire people either in Detroit or willing to move to Detroit. Let's just say that the pool of talent was wafer thin. So against my better judgment, I kept them in place, and gradually hired solid people around them. Single biggest mistake of my career. The "B Team" - as they referred to themselves, although "Z team" would have been more accurate - effectively sabotaged our overall effort. We were still very successful, but it was a continual uphill slog.

Given that the current staff enabled Shaw in facilitating Stanford's demise, I hope TT doesn't keep any of them in their current roles. I could see Lance Anderson in a chief of staff role and maybe Bobby Kennedy as a WR coach but eveyone else should be cleared out.
The four positions I am most interested in seeing what TT does are:
DC
S&C coach
OL coach
Head of Recruiting/Player personnel
His current SS staff seems excellent for their geography but I'm not sure how many are relevant/capable of the move to Stanford.

He needs to make a clean sweep of key personnel. I will be very interested to see where Shaw's staff ends up. Akina (66) may just retire; Alamar is only 61, so he probably still needs to work a bit. All the rest definitely still need to land somewhere. Pritchard will likely suffer the biggest drop: no P5 team will hire him as offensive coordinator. At best, he might get a position job at an FBS program.

There's only one person on God's green earth that would hire him in such a role, and I seriously doubt Shaw will be getting an NFL gig any time soon. That ship sailed.

Have you seen our offense that last few years? The play of our QBs? NFL coaches don't want to get fired. I would find it highly improbable that Shaw set up a deal for someone in the NFL to hire Tavita. Why would they?
