Because they are in a super awesome conference that's on TV all the time in good time slots and everyone knows it so it doesn't matter who they play as long as they come out on top of that super awesome conference even if there are only two or three really good teams in that super awesome conference.

Also, they fill their stadium for comparatively lesser opponents, and the lesser opponents tend to show up. My brother and I attended the Oregon State game at the Big House, about 6,000 OSU fans showed up with the customary 105k Michigan fans.
