Per the Athletic, LSU's Hailey Van Lith is transferring and apparently before committing to LSU, she also considered Stanford and South Carolina according to the Athletic. 

I imagine much of that is reflective of her west coast roots and playing 3 on 3 with Cam Brink last Summer. Do we have any chance at her this go-around?

This seems like a Modest Proposal after HVL's season with LSU, and before in my estimation.
Why would we even consider someone with such a poor quality of play over the last season? There are so many other real good players in the Portal at the present, including players from the defunct PAC12.

And, all of them have been playing in programs with fairly structured systems, particularly the OSU players. I start drooling when I think about Beers setting screens for us.

Van Lith would certainly satisfy the posters who have yearned for a ball dominant shooting guard who would help with the spacing. :-)

All of the OSU / WSU transfers mentioned would be great although the grad transfers are probably slightly more likely although any transfer to Stanford has a very very low probability.  Gardiner plus Iriafen could really do some damage because she is such a good 3-point shooter which would leave Iriafen with a lot of room 1 on 1 to do damage in the midrange or interior.

Wow. Just wow! 

It feels surreal, though I am not necessarily shocked. 

I would never say something like "it was time" or "it's bittersweet but a good time for change", not just b/c she is such a legend deserving of so much respect, but also b/c she is an incredible leader who, IMO, *did* adapt and reinvent parts of her practice over the years thus would never be underestimated, at least not in my mind, even if it looked like a couple rebuilding years might be on the horizon. 

But I do think the timing makes sense. Both for her legacy, herself, and for what I imagine she wants for the program.

That being said: things are moving FAST FAST FAST these days in WCBB! So w/r/t her replacement, I'm guessing it's Kate or Lindy...PERSONALLY, I am truly FLOORED by Lindy's success at UNLV, and she would be my pick...her results there, you could not really expect any better than what she's produced

While I think Kate will be a smooth transition, it'd probably be pretty incredible to not lose someone on the roster or an incoming recruit. Fingers crossed. I know Kate has led the recruiting charge for years, so I think this is as smooth of a transition as we could hope for.

Take it with a grain of salt but there is a lot of speculation about Kiki Iriafen (so stay off twitter/instagram!) and if she'll transfer since I believe she will get her degree this year.

Also, regarding Bobk's note of grad x-fers needing to have applied for grad school already -- I did not realize this. Obviously it makes many a long shot, but perhaps it's why Katelyn Chen announced her enter into the portal unconventionally early? Even if she did not think she would for sure choose Stanford, perhaps it was part of knowing she wanted the option so she would need to decide earlier than others
