If you reordered the list dating from 1946 and combine the entire SFBA, then the Bay Area compares really well to other metropolitan regions. The SFBA currently ranks #6 all-time with 19 as you cite. SFBA leapfrogs:
- Detroit (which loses three Stanley Cups, two world series championships, and one NFL championship resulting in 16)
- Chicago (total 29, loses five NFL titles, two stanley cups, and four world series dropping their total to 18, one behind SFBA)
That places the SFBA fourth since WWII.

Fun game, which Clemson won (against Alabama) in a bit of a blowout. The game was pre-pandemic (I believe 2018 or 2019). I was there with my son, and we wound up sitting in the Clemson section, and they were wonderful and very gracious to be around. Although we had no official rooting interests, it was hard not to root for the Tigers. Little did I know that we would be conference rivals 5 years later...
