Any idea why we were sent to Norman OK rather than Arizona? The ACC has 2 #1-seeds, 3 #2-seeds, and a #3 seed, so I can see that they'd want to spread them out among the 6 regionals, but they put Cal in Arizona as the 6-seed and UNC in our regional as a 3-seed. (not that I'm complaining, temps can be pretty high in Phoenix! -- but May can be rainy in Norman)

Regional play begins tomorrow in Norman. Stanford is in the first group teeing off starting at 7:30 am local time/5:30 am pacific. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday due to expected weather on Tuesday.

I think the scoring has paused for a bit -- looking at the weather, there should be some storms rolling in soon.

Stanford was ok in the afternoon. No one went low, no one had a bad round. The scores were 70, 70, 71, 72 and 73 (the drop score).
Northwestern had its best round of the year topped off by a hole-out eagle on the 17th hole. The Wildcats cut Stanford's lead in half.
Stanford still will take a 5 shot lead into the final round. I suspect that they will try to complete the round tomorrow in the rain so that teams can head home. If however there is enough rain to cause standing water in the fairways and bunkers or on the greens or if there is lightning in the area, they will suspend play and likely complete the round on Wednesday.
With some teams still finishing up, here is where things stand.

Stanford returned 3 players from last year's national championship team. But it's the frosh Ortengren and Revuelta who are leading the way at regionals. They are tied for the overall lead at -7 with 9 holes to play.
Stanford will qualify for nationals. No question of that. They are 30 shots clear of the 6th place team. But you want to see them work through the competition and the conditions to finish strong, like the #1 team that they are.
There are only about 2 hours of daylight remaining. Doubtful that every team is able to finish today. But Stanford's 5 players should get in their rounds.
