It's wild to see the team that beat Stanford in ACC have a disaster of a tournament thus far. #7 Wake Forest is currently sitting in dead last, 30th place - +25 for the tournament so far - three strokes behind 29th.

Vanderbilt (-6 yesterday) is finding the afternoon tee time a bit rougher, +8 today.

Balance has been restored to the world, at least for today. Stanford is in 1st place. Paula Martin Sampedro posted a bogey-free round of 68. Great stuff! Kelly Xu has recorded only a single bogey (and one double) through 2 rounds. It's her best play in 2 months. Looking for Andrea Revuelta to get on track tomorrow. She seems still to be adjusting to the course and the conditions. Meja Ortengren had played 33 holes with only a single birdie before she recorded back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17. Hope that is a good sign for tomorrow.
The Cardinal has a 5 shot lead going into the 3rd round. That means that they will play tomorrow morning. Generally the morning conditions have been more benign. But my weather app shows that tomorrow morning might not be as calm as it has been the 1st two days. Early teams (the top 15) may have to deal with more wind than usual.
Momentum in team golf is real. Let's keep it going tomorrow.

Stanford shot a blistering -10 today and is now in first place, 5 strokes ahead of Northwestern. We are the only team under par through two rounds. Vanderbilt, who was -6 yesterday, went +18 today. Four teams tumbled 10 or more spots, and four teams moved up 10 or more spots.
On the individual leaderboard, both Xu and Martín Sanpedro are tied for 6 at -3, four shots behind the leader.

Sampedro has surged to the lead through 8 holes of round 3. She's -3 for the round and -6 for the tourney. Xu sits 4th with a -4.

So 15 teams make the cut for Monday. Do they start over from scratch in scores on Monday to determine the eight finalists for match play? Or do they add up the total scores for all four days?

I just have to wonder how Stanford and its Coach manage to continue to attract and KEEP such outstanding young women despite NIL the pro's etc.
In one round they basically almost make #1 in stroke play a likely result. Then the real fun begins, I really enjoy watching the match play.

The thing about match play is that if we have another day like we did Friday, we could very well lose out. It’s not enough to be the best team, you have to be the better team for three consecutive days, so running into a hot team or having an off day is enough to cost a national championship.

Le creme de le creme rose up today. Most of the teams making the cut as of now are top 15 teams. I was hoping some top 10 teams missed the cut to make the road for Stanford a little easier. Still looking good to make match play.
