Indeed he does. He needs a lot of things, including some DBs that have speed and receivers that can get open. This team doesn't have an abundance of raw talent.

That said, I find it interesting that the euphoria of the Syracuse win has been completely cancelled by the subsequent losses. I think most of us would have taken a 2-3 record at this point in history. Our injury situation is indeed "bad", but we don't actually know how bad. That situation may be governing on how the rest of the season goes. We are what our record says we are. There may be two more wins out there.

I mentioned the QB for two reasons: first, that's where the need is greatest and promises the most success, and frankly, for Stanford, it's easier to find one great quarterback than four great DBs and five great receivers...and 11 defenders who can actually tackle.
