I don't find that pathetic at all. . . .Should the football players be scolded for not attending cross country and track meets (my sport)? Ok, how about men's basketball games?
They don't build 50,000 seat stadiums to watch cross country, track meets, or basketball games. I didn't refer to other varsity athletes attending football games. I referred to Stanford students in general. I also didn't condemn the non-attending students. I just think that it is pathetic that there is such lack of support by Stanford students. In my 4 years at Stanford, we never made a bowl game. But, our home games were well attended by students.
Perhaps the root cause of this lack of student support is the Stanford administration's assault on everything fun. I really don't think if we were 5-2 rather than 2-5 it would have made much difference in attendance at today's game.
