I quipped in the stands that the officials had a double-double today.  10 bad calls and 10 terrible calls.

We held their phenom down to 8 points today.  #30 was shooting 51% from three point range and we held her to 0/6.  The game plan worked.

Unfortunately, someone else for BC stepped up.  #2 Ivey is shooting barely 30% from three point range, and she went 6/7 from beyond the arc to keep Boston College in the game until the end.

Demetre not only broke out of her shooting slump, she had 5 blocks today.  The chalk talk warned us that BC puts 5 players on the floor who all drive to the basket, and keeping them out of the paint was a key to our defense.  Well, we gave up 28 points in the paint but Brooke's 5 blocks kept it from being much, much worse.  Those 5 blocks were more than the margin for our win.  If Demetre can keep her shot going like this for the rest of the year and continue to contribute on defense, then we have a shot to close out quite well.

I absolutely love Tess Heal.  The coaches think that when playing against highly athletic speedy little guards she has issues--it takes too long to get her shot up.  It is not a fast shot.  However, she always seems to me to play ferociously.  I love her aggression and her attitude on the court.  And the fact that she led us in points, including sinking shots when they really mattered--I'd give her the game ball along with Demetre.

I love Shay Ijiwoye's energy on defense, but just like Lepolo, we can't afford to have a player out there who isn't also an offensive threat.  Zero points today.  I'm sure she can bring along her offense in the same way Clardy did from freshman to sophomore years.  But for now, I wouldn't start her over Heal.

It is concerning that Agara couldn't really go.  I hope she is back at full steam for Thursday's game.  When she was on the floor she was not looking to drive, which is really what we need from her.  She overcame that hesitancy before, but it looks like her injury/time off may have re-instilled some of it.

MAS has the best rebounding hands on the team, I think.  I'd love to see that touch continue on the offensive end.  But something that some might not have notices--5 assists to 1 turnover for her.  A lot to like about her play today.
