Counting the two partial seasons as full year, Mays played seven seasons in the 1950’s.

1952 - 34 games: left for military duty early in the season

According to Wikipedia, the outfield measurements were exactly the same at the old and new stadium, though the backstop is about 20 feet closer. I've been to the new stadium a few times, it has a similar feel in the seats and on the concourses to the new Detroit stadium (never been to either of the old stadiums).

It's amazing that I've watched most members pitch in person or on TV during my lifetime. I guess that might be a hint for the "how long" question.

Nolan Ryan was the fourth member of the club, and 45 years was a good guess on how long between the first and second 3000k members, but was actually too low.
By the way, the 45th anniversary of Nolan Ryan’s 3000th strikeout will be, perhaps fittingly, on the 4th of July.
