But I was busy during the game.

That was a tie that was feels like a loss. Stanford was completely dominant all game, but wasteful again finishing. Too many shots near post . The 2 goals were meh - Aikey had an excuse me was it a shot or a cross goal from no angle and the second was a completely obvious pk.
But 12 shots to 0 first half. 8-5 in the second but 3 for Clemson were on the first goal sequence. So 2 goals in the last 10 minutes, both of corners. The first was a mad scramble goal of a corner and the second a clean header. We also had a near red card on Freer letting a player get behind.
So you see the occasional 1:0 win with 1 shot, but you really rarely see a team threaten only maybe 6-8 times in a game and get 2 goals out of it. And threaten here = got the ball inside 20 yards of goal, but not necessarily being dangerous. Clemson had nothing on offense beyond corners. Set piece defense has to get better.

10 minutes left vs. Pitt and its 5-0 Stanford. Now 6:0. This is not the Pitt of 2 years ago, but it’s still a good win.

I would put our front 6 against any other team in the country. Unlike previous iterations of our team where our D was our strength, it seems like a relative weakness to me. I don't see anything this season that would keep the PTSD I get from thinking about Jordyn Dudley running roughshod over our defense in the 2023 championship away. If we are to win a championship, it would have to be on the strength of our offense, in my opinion.

Some other thoughts:
-Stanford's tie against Clemson was a bit of a fluke. We are WAY better than Clemson. Clemson parked the bus for about 75 minutes, then suddenly started pressing when Andrea Kitahata went to the bench at 74 minutes. Kitahata was greeted there by Shae Harvey, Jasmine Aikey, Charlote Kohler, Allie Montoya and Lizzie Boamah. So 6 of our 10 field starters were on the bench when we needed to close out the game. We have great bench players, but you can't replace the experience of players like Kitahata, Aikey and Montoya that easily in key strategic moments like that. Clemson's coach clearly recognized that and pounced. Ratcliff tried to get all but Kitahata back in after the 80 minute goal, but it was a bit of an organizational mess.
-One of the biggest things that may have cost us the win was sophomore Jaden Thomas taking an off-balance shot with about 2 minutes left instead of just dribbling to the corner and taking time off the clock. The ensuing Clemson goal kick lead to the corner and their second goal. Thomas is a terrific player and I'm sure she learned from that. I'm just glad this was a regular season game and not NCAAs.
-Finally, I don't know that the video was clear enough to call Montoya offside on Stanford's last second goal. The AR would have had a far better angle. But it is what it is.
As for the Pitt game:
-Pitt played a little more forward than Clemson and we just torched them.
-The 3 goals in the first half (and continued scoring in the 2nd) gave Ratcliffe a lot of flexibility. He played 24 different players, including 3 goalkeepers. We truly are a deep team. I was very happy to see Brooke get another goal and Y-Lan get another assist. The future looks bright if we can hold onto our youngsters.
-11 different players earned at least 1 point (goal and/or assist). That could very well be a Stanford record.
-We tied Pitt at home last season so I was happy to see the big win. (Granted Pitt lost a lot of players this season, but they are still a good program.)
-The win gave us 4 points for the week, more than we earned in any ACC road trip last season.
One last thing - Stanford graduate Lumi Kostmayer is doing great at Cal. She scored both goals for them vs Clemson yesterday and leads the team in goals (4), points (10), shots (31) and shots on goal (14). She has started all 10 games for them. Glad to see her doing well, even if its for Cal.

-One of the biggest things that may have cost us the win was sophomore Jaden Thomas taking an off-balance shot with about 2 minutes left instead of just dribbling to the corner and taking time off the clock. The ensuing Clemson goal kick lead to the corner and their second goal. Thomas is a terrific player and I'm sure she learned from that. I'm just glad this was a regular season game and not NCAAs.
-Finally, I don't know that the video was clear enough to call Montoya offside on Stanford's last second goal. The AR would have had a far better angle. But it is what it is.
As for the Pitt game:
-Pitt played a little more forward than Clemson and we just torched them.
-The 3 goals in the first half (and continued scoring in the 2nd) gave Ratcliffe a lot of flexibility. He played 24 different players, including 3 goalkeepers. We truly are a deep team. I was very happy to see Brooke get another goal and Y-Lan get another assist. The future looks bright if we can hold onto our youngsters.
-11 different players earned at least 1 point (goal and/or assist). That could very well be a Stanford record.
-We tied Pitt at home last season so I was happy to see the big win. (Granted Pitt lost a lot of players this season, but they are still a good program.)
-The win gave us 4 points for the week, more than we earned in any ACC road trip last season.
One last thing - Stanford graduate Lumi Kostmayer is doing great at Cal. She scored both goals for them vs Clemson yesterday and leads the team in goals (4), points (10), shots (31) and shots on goal (14). She has started all 10 games for them. Glad to see her doing well, even if its for Cal.
16 players with a point last year.

The women beat BC 2:0. They were completely in control almost all game, and BC did nothing on offense until the last 20 minutes. Shots finished 36:5. Another poor finishing day - BC played good defense and didn’t give up much cheap minus the first goal where the goalie failed at clearing and it went off Aikey into the goal disaster - but the women should have scored 4+ in this one.
Murdock started and Freer moved to RB.
Clown referee. Barely called a foul in the game. Somebody would get crushed - no whistle. Then random minor contact would be a foul. Terrible. You know it’s bad when Evans is the only card and it was for dissent. BC went sliding into Freer dangerously with no call which led to said dissent. Fortunately, it didn’t matter much. But a different game and it would have been a problem.

EDIT: Just saw a post from Austin Park who said he spoke to Kitahata after the match. She said she thinks she dislocated her kneecap and that "It's not as bad as it sounds." Just guessing here, but if nothing's torn maybe Kitahata will be back in time for NCAAs, which are still 6 weeks away.

So Klinger is going to be the new starter I expect. Thomas will get more minutes though she still just doesn’t look comfortable at this level. Maybe Bray or Harrison get more time - but they just look really young out there physically. I don’t expect Grillione or Logan Smith to see a big jump in minutes.
I would really like to some time with Holden at CF and Aikey at LF as well.

Kitahata didn’t start but is now playing. Montoya is out. Not sure why. 2-0 Stanford with 15 minutes left in the first half.
