Seems to me that they probably spend a pretty decent amount of time together while Donahoe was a GSB trustee.   I thus wonder:   is this Levin hiring someone with whom he is comfortable and maybe there are some blind spots, or Levin properly leveraging his deep knowledge of a candidate's strengths?  Time will tell . . .

It's possible that Levin was the primary recruiter of Donohue.

I wonder if the issue of the athletic department getting involved with private equity had/has any bearing on the selection of the AD.
