One of my all time favorite Stanford football memories was playing in Miami in 2011. I recall meeting many of you that Orange Bowl year as well.

I just noticed that this is Miami's 7th game this season, their 6th at home. The one away game was in Tallahassee vs FSU, so they haven't left Florida yet this season! Meanwhile, this will be Stanford's 8th game, our 5th away from home. Our closest away game is BYU.
Not that this is a new issue, but by the end of the regular season Miami will have 4 away games--only one will be outside the Eastern time zone (SMU so one hour earlier). Stanford has 6 away games and not a single one will be played in the Pacific time zone.

Mimimum 7 home games every season.

The future of Notre Dame's annual games with Stanford and USC still has not been announced. Currently, Stanford has not P4 games on its schedule 2026, 2028, 2029, and 2030. In years Stanford does not play ND, it will be scrambling to meet the requirement of at least one P4 non-conference game.

In that case, I would encourage Stanford to drop Vanderbilt and schedule a mountain or west coast P4 team. Unfortunately, there aren't that many of them: 4 in the B1G (Oregon, UW, USC, UCLA), 5 in the Big 12 (UA, ASU, Utah, BYU, Colorado). I think that's all of them.

I would guess we have at least one of the reported issues USC does with the current series, preferring to play the games in South Bend before conference play starts (and for us hopefully before school starts).
Further complicating things is the 12 year deal ND signed to play Clemson every year starting in 2027

Really? I love the ND game when we're first good. We get to see a team with top 10 aspirations, national media presence, great gameday atmosphere and ... we've been competitive.
I admit to dreading it when we're really bad.
My nightmare is we replace it with a set of 3rd tier California teams - UC Davis, Sac St, San Jose St, or similar. And the football world ignores us.
