I'm sure I'll be the outlier and swamped by others.
But still I voted for Charlie Mirer.
Not because I really think he'll get it.
But because he looked so good, far better than Elijah Brown, albeit in such a brief appearance, versus Notre Dame.
Anyway, regardless where he ends up on QB list, I'm glad we got him back into our QB room this season.
But still I voted for Charlie Mirer.

I don't know why he withdrew from the portal, but I like that there's an example of guys who took a look around and realized that Stanford was the best option for them. Glad to have him back, and I hope he gets a fair chance to compete for the QB1 position.

Dunno who will be QB 1, but I've seen a variety of clips re Mike Mitchell. He's poised in the pocket, decisive, fairly elusive, can throw on the run, and lays in some pretty deep passes. Seems to get rid of the ball quickly. He's only 5'11 and 180 lbs. I saw one ranking of 800 something player in the US, which isn't very good. I'm pretty sure it would be higher if he were 5 inches taller. But, of course, he isn't. Still, I think he will start out as #3 and challenge for #1 by the end of the season. I'm told he improved alot every year. It would be nice if James Lofton, or Tony Hill, or someone with Troy Walters' speed came along..

BTW - here's a highlight reel from Warren's 2024 season - he was under center against some really competition that year - Texas (#3 at game time, L), Oregon (#1, L), @Indiana (#8, L), @OSU (#2, W) and Alabama (#11 in the ReliaQuest Bowl, W). He wound up struggling with accuracy against some lesser teams at mid-season (including you, SC....), losing the starting job for a month before regaining the reins and starting the last 6 games of the season. In the clip, he looked pretty good both as a drop-back and as an out-of-pocket passer with good mobility, anticipation, and poise, a quick release and good zip on his throws. Here's hoping he can come back strong from his ACL injury but more importantly, that we can give whoever our QB1 may be a good supporting cast.

for game 1 I will predict davis Warren, with Mirer as #2. and no, predicting Mirer is not ridiculous at all given what we have seen and the "room"
