Quote:Running back Duke Scott, who missed the Wolfpack's game against Wake Forest due to injury, is not listed on the updated depth chart. The backups to Davion Gause are listed as Darius Johnson and Deandre Desinor, with players like Jonathan Paylor, Dylan McCoy and Noah Moss -- who have also received snaps this season -- not listed.https://247sports.com/college/wake-fores...291523761/
While starting guard Yousef Mugharbil is another major loss for the Wolfpack, it did get some positive news with wideout Jojo Trader now listed as a starter after missing last week's game. Defensively, Tristan Teasdell is listed as an "OR" with King Mack at safety after he missed the Wake Forest game, too.
Somehow, Rico Jackson will be starting at left guard and right tackle while Spike Sowells -- who is already confirmed out for the season -- will be the third string at center. And somehow, Elijah Satchell, who currently leads NC State with three sacks on the season, is still not listed on the depth chart. So we'll see how accurate it truly is on Friday night.

This will be a good calibration game for us. What the season suggests so far:
We are not competitive against top 10 teams, at home or away
We are not competitive against quality teams 3 time zones away
We are competitive and can win at home against struggling Power 4 or mediocre FBS teams, especially if they are a few time zones away
We can be dominant against FCS teams
This game will go a long way in determining whether we're at the very bottom of the Power 4 or if we're just bottom 3rd.
Odds suggest that it's the former, but really hope we can recalibrate up after Friday.
I would think Tavita and Co. are looking at this game as a major opportunity to prove there's forward progress. I suspect NC State is in a similar boat, and I'm guessing they will look at it the same way.
