Dylan, son of Ed, brother of Christian, is a 2017 QB. He got offered by Colorado. People predict he will come to Stanford. We will see if our coach sticks to his newly announced policy of taking a QB every other year. I don't think it's a good idea and I don't buy it. We did go after Town and Wimbush.

Bailey Hockman received an offer this week so he's first in line to be the QB for our 2017 class.

I agree with Hank. Plus I don't believe you can survive without taking a QB most years. Certainly, if you took a QB every other year, you could be in a position of having only two QB's on the roster (a redshirt junior and a redshirt freshman), which is untenable. I think you probably want to have four QB's on the roster most times. That means that assuming you are redshirting all your QB's you are taking a QB four out of five years, and more if there is attrition or position switches.
Because Crower isn't coming back, by not having taken a QB this last year we might be cutting it a bit close. We will have three QB's on the roster (Hogan, Burns, Chryst) and a former QB (Dallas Lloyd) who could probably switch back if there was an emergency. We will again be in a tight spot the following year, with Hogan leaving, as we will have Burns, Chryst and a true freshman (Costello?), who would hopefully redshirt. Even the following year might be tenuous; if Chryst were to win the starting battle over Burns, the latter might chose not to come back for a fifth year or become a graduate transfer (in which case we would have Chryst, Costello (or other 2016 recruit), and a 2017 true freshman).
I have a feeling we will be taking a QB every year for the next few years out of necessity, unless we take two QB's one year (or take somebody who goes on a mission).

Agree that taking a QB every year should be the goal. Attrition through transfer and graduation as well as the prospect that the player is not as good as evaluated almost requires recruiting a QB every year. What if we had not taken Hogans because we had Nunes and Nottingham (neither worked out very well).
Hopefully TJ Green, Trent's son, enrolls as a preferred walk-on to help ease the lack of numbers at the QB position, even if he never sees the field

We are in the top 5 for Osiris St Brown (yes Equanemous's younger brother). Maybe the sibling rivalry and the tendency for younger siblings to be more athletic works in our favor.
