People seem to be making the critical error of assuming the 59ers will be mediocre-to-average. This is certainly possible, but it also seems possible that the 59ers will be actively awful this year. They're losing their best players, they lost their quarterback and replaced him with a guy who couldn't do much against MAC competition, and all of their purported solutions are young players. They have to get used to a new home stadium. This is a combination that produces a substantial risk of failure.
