ROSEN HAD THE GRADES AND BOARDS, THAT WASN'T THE ISSUE HERE, IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WERE DRIVING AT. I ACCEPT YOUR ANECDOTE AS COMPLETELY PLAUSIBLE BTW.
The issue is that there were probably 30,000 applicants who had the grades and the boards in Rosen's year, and if he were a potential world class violinist rather than a potential world class NFL QB, his chances of being admitted were slim, like all the other top 30,000 applicants in his cohort.

If what you are saying is that very few (if any) football players on the current roster would have been admitted without football, that's certainly true. However, as far as news is concerned that's right up there with Lee surrendered to Grant or the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.
From what I understand about Luck's credentials, he might have been one of the few that would have been. Not sure about Rosen, but have a feeling he might have been too.

JPRI. Did I say anything about "news" above? If so, I apologize. If not, please read more closely.

You didn't. With all due respect, I just didn't see much point in stating a fact that virtually all of us have known for decades now.
