The Denver market, and the greater Mountain West region, had a touch to do with the expansion, but it was also important to get more weekend content for the conference's network. More teams meant more games and more fresh broadcast material each week.
Besides, now the conference channel can include contests between Utah and Colorado in skiing. I bet the B1G won't be able to match that outdoor winter action.
