And if the Pac-12 has been paying Scott's salary for years, and the Presidents have been willing to pay that amount, is it not really above level?
While I generally agree with the importance of price signals and the laws of supply and demand, I also recognize that the labor market is imperfect, and within that imperfect market, monopsonies get away with underpaying, and the principal-agent problem mean that upper managers get away with overpaying themselves.
