By the way, if there's anything meaningful to take about this, it's that an excellent 2013 run is very possible. Only 8 members of the starting two-deep are cinches to leave.
By contrast, here's what the number turned out to be for other years:
15 players from the initial 2010 two-deep left after the 2010 season.
14 players from the initial 2011 two-deep left after the 2011 season.
(unfortunately, I was only able to find the depth chart from late in the 2009 season--that is, the ND game. However, 11 players from that two-deep left after the 2009 season.)
Obviously unexpected attrition, whether to the NFL or by injury or by something else entire, is always very possible, but I still think it's a helpful indicator. If we have the sort of season the board consensus thinks we will, we're very well-positioned for the future.
