That was a bit of a strange game. OSU really wanted this one, they pulled out all the stops. I thought we were in great shape when we ended up 9 points to the good at the half after playing a lot of the bench and lots of different combos in the first half, due to foul trouble and I think Tara not loving the vibe there for a while. When the team is starting to get a bit off track Tara sometimes puts in Jerome to calm things, so when Jerome comes in I take it as a sign Tara thinks the team is out of kilter or not doing what she wants.
When they got it down to 4 I was a bit concerned but somehow I did not think we would lose, and sure enough, Jones hits some shots and Iraifen does, and Belibi has a big impact on both ends of the floor, and Jump pops in some threes and the game is a rout. When the announcer said Lexie had 19 or 20 points toward the end I was surprised it was that many. She was great on offense even with some foul trouble. Nice game from Wilson, Lexie, Belibi, and good support from the guard subs - Jump, Van Gytenbeek, and Hamilton.
For OSU Von Oelhoffen scored well but she got super lucky on a few of those shots, I guess balancing out two or three banks for us that were not meant to be that way. I don't think OSU is a great team. They are decent and run some good schemes but they don't have the horses this year to be more than occasionally troublesome for a top team. I don't know if they will make the NCAAs. If they do I doubt they get very far. Strange year for the conference. None of the top teams aside from Stanford have been consistently as good as expected. UA looks great and then terrible. Same for Oregon.
