P.S.  Just because she shouldn't be forgotten: J.J. Hones!

J.J. Hones is a big part of why losing to Texas A&M in the 2011 Final Four in Indy hurts.   If she hadn't gotten in trouble and came back for a 5th year, does Stanford win a National Championship in 2011?

Do you believe that kicking Hones off the team was the only option?  That struck me as unduly harsh at the time.  But then again, I'm in the "college kids will do stupid things from time to time" camp, and am not into overly-punishing such things (particularly when no one else is hurt).  Plus, a football player received a one-game suspension for a DUI arrest (a year later), which iirc, was a bit dubious in its own right.

[BTW, The visual of Hones evading law enforcement with a cast on and in a golf cart makes me chuckle, tbh; but who knows, maybe she endangered all those fellow-travelers on campus at 1:38  in the morning. . .].

Separately, do you have any sense that the much-injured Hones would have been able to contribute in 2011, even if she weren't dismissed from the team?  You seem to want to pile on Hones with your post.
