Perhaps it’s time to put away college football. It certainly raises the question of what a university should be doing. Somehow USF, Santa Clara, Gonzaga and many others have survived without their students getting their brains bashed.
It's actually 1 Corinthians 13, but I catch your drift, especially re: CTE. The verse goes on to say that, at present, we see only in part. But in the fall, we shall see these players and this team more clearly.
We all know it will be a bad season, and the future of the conference is in doubt. But I am still guessing that I will follow along avidly, rooting for individual players, or getting excited about a freshman's play, or lauding the improvement of a formerly unheralded player, or exulting in an upset win somewhere. And there is always the Axe. Nothing like college football, especially on a sunny day in Stanford Stadium, preceded by some brats and a cold blond ale.

Father Enright is probably still mad at me after 60 years for forgetting the proper verse. Of course soph year also had a few days of "Sexual instruction" which mostly meant no masturbating and the ultimate use of the rhythm method. High comedy and a few days of Detention or Jug for some of us.
