One the one hand, Wazoo has an aggressive, blitzing pass rush (3rd in Pac 12 sacks going into the Utah game) and a mobile QB, and both of these are Kryptonites for Stanford, so you’d think the game would be out of reach.
But Wazoo’s offense became predictable for Utah, and Utah’s defense became more and more keyed in over the game, and I think this is why Wazoo has been scoring fewer points lately. Also, they are the first team I’ve seen this season with less ball security than Stanford, so the Cardinal could actually end up with a positive turnover margin. And while their qb is mobile, he is more a designed run qb, and most importantly, his specialty is not finding downfield receivers when he scrambles. Besides RBs, Stanford appears pretty healthy, and maybe this is the game the oline actually picks up the blitzes and sometimes protects McKee.
I think the game is a 50-50. A win gives the Cardinal a decent shot at a bowl game, so it is almost a must-win.
The Cougs will Coug it, and Stanford wins 16-14.
Ah, yes, the Card will OWN the Cougs! Wazzoo will wilt in the rain and the rabid hometown throng primed for yet another victory!
Life is too short to waste on crap football.
