Great summary of the current Wisconsin squad. Thank you. I've always felt Wisconsin (and to some extent Virginia) should be the MBB models that Stanford should seek to emulate. Unfortunately Dawkins and now Haase did not feel that way. Chasing the obvious NBA players is fraught with complications.
Also I have several family members are brobdingnagian Badger fans (recent graduates) so the Wisconsin football and MBB teams have been my rooting interests when it comes to conference champioship and tournament seasons simply because Stanford has not been a factor in these two sports recently.
Stanford's team relative to Haase's other teams is experienced, which is a good thing, although the team went .500 last year. The addition of Michael Jones from Davidson could be difference maker as Stanford's shooting has been mediocre. Stanford's two Jones attack could be the best outside shooting combination in the Pac-12. Turnovers have been the other bugaboo under Coach Haase. Not clear if that has been fixed.
One wildcard for Stanford this season is Maxime Reynaud their sophomore center from France. His offensive skills can be superb. Not sure how he matches up defensively against Wahl and the tall center for the Badgers though.
Badgers are a great test for Stanford. Realistically Stanford has to win this game or the one against SDSU (#19 in the country) to keep on track for an NCAA berth. I'll be conflicted here but I hope Stanford comes out on top.
