Talent retention has always been an issue with Haase.  But Whatever the issue, now that Haase has been at Stanford 6+ years, the team he has is all his, so if the issue is lack of talent, then he has failed to recruit well, if the issue is talent retention, he needs to do a better job keeping players on the team (or recruiting players who will stay on the team), if the issue is talent development, that’s on him too, and if the issue is his system, the buck stops with him.

All of what you said was true after 5 years too...Haase is lucky to still have his job and I'm guessing he knows that. But he is who he is and what he's doing isn't working. The system doesn't appear to fit the personnel very well (hmmm, where else have we seen that???), and despite the talent coming the door the whole doesn't equal the sum of the parts.

I remain hopeful that this season will be different in a good way, but I do wonder if it will be better enough to make the Big Dance
