Santa Clara today, however, is coached by Bill Carr, a former USF basketball player. He has coached Santa Clara for 7 years since Payne left--but I know nothing about his basketball philosophy. Let's hope it is a good clean war of movement and not a Payne-inspired quicksand pit.
That 2015 SCU team went 23-9 and lost in the first round of the WNIT to Fresno State. They averaged 21 fouls per game, this year's version averages 14 fouls per game. I don't think it will be a slugfest, and I think SCU will lose by about 25.
