A concern of mine; We get off to a great start and build a substantial lead. Tara pulls Brink (as she usually does) very early and later pulls Haley and neither of them comes back. The reserves come in and we go from playing great, intense basketball to mediocre basketball and while we easily win the game, we lose the 4th. quarter.
We have seen this pattern all too often this season. We play intense for one half and then (inexplicably), take our foot off the accelerator and the efficiency of our offense declines when Brink and Haley are not on the court. Obviously, our reserves can't match the skill sets of our 2 All-Americans, but the intensity should never drop off.
Will we have learned our lessons from the UCLA loss and all the big leads we've given up? We'll find out beginning Friday, and most certainly on Sunday.
