Disagree completely. If you have a real shot at a good coach in the NCAA Tournament (like, for instance, WSU's coach Kyle Smith), I think a good AD waits to interview that coach.
Well, with any luck, St. Mary's will tank in the opening round and Randy Bennett will become available quickly, both elevating Stanford and returning St. Mary's to the mediocrity whence it came...
Why would Bennett leave St. Mary’s for Stanford? It’s a better program, with great fan support.
He’s got a great thing going at St.Marys. I suppose if Stanford blows him away with the financial package it’s a possibility. But in all other respects, St.Marys is a better job.
