Max Murrell entered the transfer portal on March 19th.

Matt Filipowski is in the portal out of Harvard. Twin brother of Duke standout Kyle Filipowski. Since Stanford is in the same conference as Duke next year maybe he'd be interested. He didn't have a lot of offeres out of high school but getting a 7'0 big man wouldn't hurt.

Another transfer out of harvard is 6'10 Justice Ajogbor.

From a great distance, and sitting in my barcalounger armchair coaches position, I have to imagine that Coach Kyle has at least a competitive pitch offer that can be made to the portal guys for returning:
1) playing time, .. almost guaranteeable? 
2) visibility, in a top conference, with some nationally televised games (I assume some for us, maybe prematurely so), others on regional networks, and almost all (?) on extensively available ACC network. 
3) complete a Stanford degree, you know, for if/when playing basketball might be done.
As to NIL? speculating here, but yeah maybe for some that grass will be greener elsewhere... but surely not so for all the Stanford guys in the portal? And as written elsewhere, not all NIL dollars are equivalent, with some being more reliably cashable than others. I have to hope ours fall into that more reliable bucket.
As to playing on a winning team? Yeah, well, that's always desirable, and so there's always a positive chance, however small, a losing team can turn around quickly.

A stanford degree in NIL landscape just does not mean much as it used to.  Give me a few mil over a Stanford degree any day especially if the school is still decent academically (Duke, Northwestern, Vandy, Notre Dame).
