I do not mean to denigrate Grant's achievement, winning the Olympic Qualifying and getting a chance to run in Paris, but there is simply a somewhat significant gap between a very good T&F athlete and one capable of winning the Olympics. Our two great female 800 meters fall into the same category, near world class, but not quite there yet. Making up the roughly 6 second difference between their best and the world class times can maybe be made up as they get older and train, train, train. But you can't teach genetics.
