I don’t think the fourth and 11 with 10 seconds was egregious, though they probably should have thrown it underneath to try to pick up a first down and kick the field goal. The way I look at it is that 4th and 11 with 10 seconds from the opponents 45 was a better position that 1st and 10 with 5 seconds left from your own 45. And if you are Louisville, don’t you want a chance to end it in regulation? The penalties were inexcusable, but I don’t think the decision to go for it was.

Agree. Not surprised they went for it. I was expecting something about 10 yards from LOS in the middle of field.
