Yes she seemed a bit slow on defense and didn’t get her shot off quickly enough but she could score and would attack the basket. It would have been nice to have had her for our celebrated Aussie newcomer next year.
If a conscious decision was made to let her go, which I kind of doubt, than you have to ride with the coaches. If it was lack of NIL , we are I real trouble as I doubt she will get big bucks anywhere..unless SMU wants her.
No more illusions about the value of a Stanford degree. Seems to be worth less than one years delta NIL. All in all, not a good sign.
I find this situation really odd. Why come to Stanford for just one year? Academically it makes no sense, unless she finished her degree. Athletically, I don't know. This last season was a down year, and no guarantees (although there's always hope) that it will be much better next year. So maybe she's looking to be at a winning program where she'll have more exposure. I doubt she'll get more PT at a higher-ranking program. Anyway, it's a minor loss for Stanford. Just odd.
Sellers just did the same thing with the men’s team. He was a starter unlike Heal, but no superstar. I expect he is getting a bigger NIL number vs. Heal. But apparently the degree has little to no value for some players these days vs. 1 year of NIL.
