There are times when a men's college soccer game is a joy to watch, as one or both teams put together long sequences of passes, display creativity, and create numerous chances. There are other times when a game becomes tedious, marred by numerous long kicks, often sent ahead with hope rather than a plan; multiple sequences of headers going in both directions that start to resemble a pinball game; and seeming innumerable throw-ins and free kicks. Tonight's game against USF -- especially the second-half -- was mostly of the second category. Long throw-in after long throw-in by UCF was particularly unesthetic.
Very glad that Stanford came away with a well-deserved win, but it was painful to watch. Hoping for better soccer over the final two games.
