Totally agree with Nobadeer, that was the best game in Maples in years! Great come from behind win and Okorie continues to be the X factor as the best Stanford freshman that I've ever seen. NC's defense was incredibly handsy and physical last night and I think Hubert Davis challenged them to stop Okorie from getting to the hoop at all costs. He is a relentless driver, that probes and then finds a seam to get to the basket with either hand and then finishes! The Tarheels were hip checking and holding him constantly. Not happy with the refs and that 4 point swing with the Technical was brutal. Did anyone see what Kyle said? I need to watch the recording?
Best shooting from 3 that I've seen in a long time with Dent-Smith, Agarwal and Benny hitting some fantastic shots and really hustling on D as well. Loved the tenacity.
Coach Kyle was not happy with the start to the second half and I haven't seen him so animated courtside. He let the players know it, especially the bigs. Great adjustments to try to get some tougher D in the paint and I think Aiden and Rohosy both stepped up their game...especially given Okpara's absence. That said, I don't understand why we don't go harder after rebounds on the offensive side? We have been getting out rebounded far too often and are missing some mid range boards as the bigs turn away to quickly.
Here's to the momentum building up to Saturday and another great performance versus the Blue Devils! Maples will be packed and I fear there is going to be too much Duke Blue in the stands so please bring your Cardinal Red and your vocals! I'm hopeful that our shooters build off of last night, but it's going to be a battle in the paint with Boozer...boards please!
By the way, anyone know our record vs Duke?! Let's Go Stanford!
