I was at the game and was very impressed with Alex. She played with four fouls all of Q4 and still dominated on both ends. She (+Lara's 3 at the end) was the reason Stanford managed to get to OT. Unfortunately the team was exhausted by then cause there was no one useful on the bench with Agara out.
Good observation, samiam.
I'm not sure the facts back up the "exhaustion" argument. According to the stats, the bears had FOUR players who played more than 39 minutes and 30 seconds [three of whom played more than 40 minutes - i.e., the entire regulation PLUS minutes in overtime], and we had only one [Clardy]. Seems like "exhaustion" should have been their problem, not ours.
For me, the difference between the two teams was energy. The Bears was first to the 50-50 balls especially in the second half and I felt they had more energy. Even so, we came back to tie them in regulation before losing in overtime.
