yes, and wasn't that an illegal second challenge by virginia?
i was at the game. our seats are 5 rows behind the visitor bench. i thought i saw virginia challenge a call twice. both times i could clearly see the virginia coach and multiple players signaling with a one-hand-up-in-the-air circling gesture, and the refs went to the monitor.
first time, iirc uva called for a review of a foul by uva on nunu. refs let the foul on uva stand. as i read the rules, that's supposed to cost them a technical-foul free throw and use up their challenges for the game.
but then, yes, they challenged again: an out-of-bounds play initially going stanford's way was reviewed after uva challenged, then overturned near the end of the game to be uva's ball.
(there was also a ref review for possible flagrant foul, but that was not initiated by a coach's challenge)
as i understand the rules, the request for a second challenge should have resulted in another technical foul against uva, and stanford should have kept the ball. that's a big swing at the end of the game! i was shocked that the stanford coaches didn't protest the second review.
am i misunderstanding?
