Talented freshmen, but freshmen. It was almost like a JV squad against a team of seniors.
Dunno whether this changes any analysis though. I agree that we are underperforming our talent, even if we are performing exactly according to our experience.
This is what the football team is up against as well. The team has bled experienced players who have transferred and/or graduated with eligibility remaining so that the team is constantly relying on substantial contributions from frosh and sophomores while opponents are loaded with seniors and 5th years. This cycle looks to be playing on repeat for football and perhaps for women's and men's hoops as well. I don't see how these teams get out of continual catch-up/rebuilding mode in the current environment.
