Assuming that they haven't lowered their admissions requirements up to now, doesn't the fact that they went 12-0 this year (along with Stanford 3 year BCS run) show that you can win with high character/academic standard players?

Although it will be an interesting test to see if it's sustainable to have two programs with high admission standards have continued success in the BCS era. And here I'm taking it on faith the general sentiment that N.otre Dame is at least directionally on par with Stanford in that arena and a significant step above typical factories.
