Kacyvenski seems to confirm this type of labeling.  I hadn't seen that story but was reading another and came upon this quote from him.  Apparently he also played for the Rams and with Incognito.

Isaiah Kacyvenski, a former Rams linebacker, considered Incognito an upbeat prankster in the locker room. “But I can see how things could get out of hand at times, though I’ve never seen anything this vicious,” he said, referring to the allegations involving Martin. Incognito’s sense of humor “revolved around ribbing guys,” Kacyvenski said. “If you live it day to day to day, you could reach a breaking point.”
