Pure speculation on my part, but Hemschoot seems to me to be suited almost for the role Jeff Fuller played for the Niners years ago, before a tragic injury shortened his career. That is, Fuller was a fantastically gifted player who was a bit too small for LB, and generally considered a bit too big for S. But the Niners got him on the field and played him all over the place: sometimes dropping into coverage, sometimes rushing the passer, sometimes as an extra safety in the box to stop the run. I recall thinking he was one of the most disruptive players in the league because he could play anywhere in the back seven and cause troubles for the offense.
Hemschoot may not be quite as physically gifted as Fuller, but he has a lot of the same qualities: fast, hits hard, athletic enough to cover TEs, physical enough to stuff the run. I'd love to see the coaches get him on the field and move him around to fill different roles.
