I agree that one of the clear differences is that Stanford rebuilt itself on toughness and strength on the lines while Ca'l has relied on high octane passing. I don't know that one should be more predictably sustainable or not.
It will be interesting to see if Goff decides to return for a 4th year and a shot at glory. At this point, his college career will have broken a lot of school and perhaps conference records after three years, but probably unsatisfying in terms of team success. Will he take the Andrew Luck approach of gathering his band of brothers to finish what was started, or will he want to avoid the inevitable avalanche of hits he'll sustain behind that porous o-line for a 4th year?
